Top Chef: Colorado episode 7 preview: Tension with Tanya and Claudette

Top Chef: Colorado premiere

Top Chef: Colorado episode 7 is right around the corner, and while there’s going to be a great challenge at the center of it, there’s also going to be conflict — potentially more between some of the chefs than we’ve seen most of the season.

If you saw the preview following last week’s episode, you already know that Tanya is going to be none too pleased as judges’ table — but what happens before that? In the video sneak preview below, you can see some tension start to mount between her and Claudette over how much Claudette is asking for things during prep. They are cooking for a huge number of people, and just as you would imagine that requires a lot of work. That’s something that Tanya is relatively used to, but at the same time she has her own way of doing things for it. Apparently, we are seeing Claudette get somewhat in the way of that. We’re not going to say that this is a full-blown fight by any means, but you can see some of the frustration start to take hold for Tanya. She doesn’t want to be spending much of her time dealing with requests from someone else.

As for why Claudette and Tanya are even working together, this looks to be a team challenge themed in part around the Winter Olympics. You can get some more details via the Top Chef: Colorado episode 7 synopsis:

On the eve of the Quickfire, one of the chefs has a very special delivery. Padma and Season 14 Winner Brooke Williamson surprise the chefs at their house with breakfast ingredients and task them to create a delicious breakfast dish featuring Nutella. Then, Olympians Meryl Davis, Gus Kenworthy and John Daly inspire the chefs to focus on precision, speed and creativity in the first-ever Top Chef Olympics where the chefs will face off in three head-to-head heats. Who will win the gold and which bronze medalist will be sent packing?

Given that the Olympics are airing on NBC and other networks owned by NBC and Bravo’s parent company, can you really be all that shocked by the cross-promotion?
