Vikings season 5 episode 10 preview: Blood of Kattegat (midseason finale)

Vikings season 6 renewal

Vikings season 5 episode 10 is airing on History in one week’s time, and you better be prepared for this one. “Moments of Vision” marks the mid-season finale for the epic drama before we have to face the inevitable hiatus before getting the last 10 episodes of season 5. It’s one that marks a violent battle, and beyond that, it could mark significant loss. There will be victors and the defeated, but beyond that other surprises will be sprinkled in throughout. Prepare for an episode that leaves you on the edge of your seat, and probably also one that leaves you clamoring for more. The problem with that is, unfortunately, there will probably not be another episode of Vikings after this one for many months. While we don’t anticipate as long of a hiatus as the one we had between seasons 4 and 5, there will still be a hiatus nonetheless.

Before anything else, CarterMatt wants to give you the full Vikings season 5 episode 10 synopsis — it doesn’t give you much to go on, but there is an interesting tease thrown in here:

A sense of doom looms over Kattegat as bloodshed ensues, but as the defeated army flees in the face of the victors, a legendary warrior makes his way home…

Could this warrior help to turn the tide, or is this meant more as a setup for the second half of the season? There are two different ways in which to look at this, but either way there’s a reason to be excited. You don’t want Vikings to be a story where every move on the battlefield is predictable; even if the show is based on history, there is enough leeway in the narrative to create a sense of flux, of moving parts and pieces that are not to be expected.

If all early teases about this episode are to believed, this is an episode that will have your jaw on the ground … and it could take months to lift it off again. Brace yourselves for something intense and then some. Anyone else hoping that this legendary warrior is Rollo?
