Ink Master season 10: Is Daniel Silva a prodigy or an underdog? (Spotlight)
Daniel has only been tattooing for three years’ now, and when you think about the quality of his work relative to that, it’s rather remarkable. This is a guy who is consistently putting out incredible work that should get everyone paying attention to him. He beat Ryan Ashley on Angels, and he was strong enough to make a team without having to sweat it too much during the premiere.
It may be in part Daniel’s story that helps to inspire him. His bio reveals that he was homeless at age 19, and he used what little money he had to buy tattoo equipment in hopes of eventually making it big. He’s now well on his way to doing that; he feels like one of those artists who is just naturally gifted at it. He knows how to do solid lines and some of the other fundamentals; yet, at the same time he also does still have a sense of artistry. You can see more of his work over on his Instagram.

If there is anything to worry about with Daniel as a contestant this season, it’s whether or not he is really well-versed in all of the styles. While one of the advantages to being so new to the industry is that you’re fresher and a little less jaded, at the same time you also may not have the know-how to do as many tattoos outside of what you typically do. This is where Anthony may come into play as a mentor. He’s a great person to navigate Daniel through given that he also competed on the show when he wasn’t the most-experienced artist in the room. Yet, he also has some of that natural ability and it made him a force to be reckoned with.
It’s a little hard to say that Daniel is a favorite to win given his experience; yet, he’s almost certainly someone to watch out for as the competition goes along.
