The Good Doctor episode 13 preview: Shaun Murphy, Neil Melendez’s new problems

Good Doctor episode 13

Going into The Good Doctor episode 13 entitled “Seven Reasons,” one of the things that we are most reminded of beyond anything else is that for some of these doctors, trouble never stops. This episode is coming off of an intense arc revolving around conjoined twins and Shaun Murphy’s future; yet, there really is not going to be all that much of an opportunity to breathe. Some other issue is going to arise that, in turn, forces these characters to assess themselves in different ways. In this professional there is a certain illusion of invincibility — because these are people often in control of life and death, at least to a certain degree, there is a certain feeling that goes along with it that they can do almost anything, even if that is not actually the case.

Moving forward, it’s certainly possible that a few of these characters are in for some surprises — and Shaun Murphy’s not going to be the only one. “Seven Reasons” could be one of the biggest episodes to date for Nicholas Gonzales as Dr. Neil Melendez.

For a little bit more insight, be sure to check out The Good Doctor episode 13 synopsis below:

Dr. Shaun Murphy suspects his patient is lying about the reason for her injury and makes a controversial assumption about her motives. Meanwhile, Dr. Neil Melendez’s personal life could be affecting his work and, ultimately, his patients lives.

Over the course of this episode we’ll hopefully get more of a chance to see how some of these characters cope with their new circumstances — for Shaun, we’re fine ultimately with whatever he decides to do provided that it leads to him staying put at the hospital. The last thing that we ultimately want to see is a situation in which he ends up leaving the hospital. It may not be a perfect family, but we’ve come to interpret it as his family. For now, keeping that group together is important in its own way.

Based on the new promo below, it also appears that Shaun and Neil are also going to be fighting with each other over their handling of a patient.
