Chicago Fire season 6 episode 9 preview: Trouble for Dawson, Casey ahead

Are Dawson and Casey on the rocks? We wouldn’t go that far, but Chicago Fire season 6 episode 9 looks to be one of the biggest tests that the characters have faced in some time. Lately, they’ve suffered communication problems, and we don’t foresee that improving in the near future. Dawson wants to help Bria, and that much is clear. Yet, is it really wise for her to dive so much into the life of someone she didn’t even know a few weeks ago? Is she creating more problems for herself than what she is capable of solving?

It also doesn’t help that Casey doesn’t quite have the same opinion as to how to handle the Bria problem, largely because of everything that the two have gone through already. He doesn’t want to see her in peril or to get her heart smashed; but, in doing so, philosophically the two are going to drift further apart.

DAWSON AND CASEY GO THROUGH A ROUGH SPOT – After learning unsettling news, Dawson (Monica Raymund) enlists Severide (Taylor Kinney) to help her out. Elsewhere, Casey (Jesse Spencer) and Dawson struggle with communication issues while Brett (Kara Killmer) and Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) compete to win the heart of Zach (guest star Daniel Di Tomasso), a Hazmat officer. Meanwhile, Otis (Yuri Sardarov), Herrmann (David Eigenberg) and Mouch (Christian Stolte) are on a mission to locate the source of a horrible stench that is making life unpleasant at Firehouse 51. Eamonn Walker and Joe Minoso also star.

In thinking about some of the other stories, obviously the one with Otis, Herrmann, and Mouch is going to be amusing. After all, aren’t most of them? Granted, the one about a horrible stink in the firehouse is somewhere near the top of the ridiculous list.

As for Kidd and Brett competing for the heart of the same guy, what’s interesting is that both of them may be looking at this relationship as a way to get past some of the feelings that they’ve had for other people as of late — think in terms of Severide and Antonio.
