Knightfall episode 7 preview: A (possible) path to the Grail

Knightfall episode 7 is going to continue what has become a major theme of this season, and that is the search for and the mythos of the Holy Grail. Isn’t it amazing how one single object can warp the minds of so many? It’s the One Ring before the One Ring ever existed; everyone will look to take any sort of advantage that they can in order to get the Grail in their possession. It makes sense when you think for a moment about what this said Grail is meant to do for the person that who has it.

Below, the official Knightfall episode 7 synopsis paints a small picture regarding just what you are going to see over the course of the episode:

Landry and Gawain meet a mysterious woman who claims she can lead them to the Grail; Joan hears of an attack on Navarre; De Nogaret devises a way to improve his standing with King Philip…

Over the course of this episode we’re going to get a chance to see if Landry and Gawain are being sold a bag of magic beans — we have to think that this is in some shape or form the likeliest result to some of the major events that are going to be coming up.

On paper, we’ll admit that this seems to be one of those episodes designed mostly for the purpose of setting the table. Yet, at the same time that’s something that this show needs to do every now and then to set up big events later. We’ve already seen more of the violent side of the show, and it’s important that it mixes that up with some politics and strong character work. All of these things, when combined, will help to make Knightfall the sort of show that sticks around for several seasons.
