NCIS: New Orleans season 4 episode 11 review: Percy’s past plays a part
Tonight, we got a sense of that courtesy of an investigation into an ATF operation gone awry. This is one that Pride’s team felt a lot of pressure to stop courtesy of a CIA agent — one who just so happened to be a double agent. Percy had a man on the inside in her former partner Jake Roman, but it just so turned out that he also wasn’t that forthcoming with information on the case. Not knowing who to trust or how to get answers made this one of the more challenging cases of the season for the team to figure out.
The villain at the heart of this episode was Willard Kurtz, and that name itself gave us a serious heart of darkness vibe. He killed the CIA agent and took whatever leverage she had with him. Luckily, Jake did still have an ace in the hole — Claire. She was Willard’s wife, an accountant who the CIA was using for years. The team was willing to use Claire in order to get to Kurtz, but they didn’t need to — Kurtz went to them. It makes a certain degree of sense given that he wanted his wife back at the end of the episode. He sought out Claire and found her; after that, they were able to track them down.
Here is where things got a little bit hairy: Even when the team was able to track down Kurtz and his wife, there was still another problem as there was a drone threatening Pride’s life at the site of the final showdown. With help from Patton Sebastian was able to defuse it; after that, Pride and Percy were able to get Mr. and Mrs. Kurtz in handcuffs. This crazy episode, one where you didn’t always know who to trust, came to a close.
CarterMatt Verdict
NCIS: New Orleans season 4 episode 11 brought you an exciting case mixed with a little bit of Percy backstory. If you do find yourselves a Percy / Lasalle ‘shipper, we wouldn’t be altogether worried about Jake’s presence here. This feels more like a brief reunion than something that’s going to be an important part of the story for some time. He left her tonight after the case was open, saying that he needed time to himself after the ATF operation went haywire.
