New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2018: Andy Grammer sings ‘Imagine’
We’ll start off here by commenting that we feel for Grammer in so many ways, given that it was well below freezing at the time in which he performed the song. Also, it was late at night and most of his audience was probably either drunk or exhausted. It’s not the easiest stage in the world. He had some moments of wobbly pitch but we’ll forgive him for that. After all, it’s better than what we’ve seen elsewhere across the entire New Year’s Eve pantheon of shows.
Grammer’s performance capped off a fairly lively night on ABC with performances both in New York and Los Angeles. With everything said and done, though, we’d be willing to argue that the biggest “star” (if you can call it that) of the entire night was the weather. There weren’t all too many notable moments on the night, with most of the performances going off without a hitch and most shows steering clear of controversial subjects. Even the CNN broadcast, which typically is incredibly entertaining, proved to be a bit of a bummer. Mariah Carey also gave a performance that went off as expected; there were no major gaffes similar to what we saw last year.
Now, we look ahead to 2018. Let’s hope for a great year that is stuffed full of many new exciting opportunities and developments. This past year was tough on so many — here’s to hoping that this is the year where things start to turn around.
