The Voice season 13 finale: Was Chloe Kohanski or Addison Agen the winner?
We don’t want to completely minimize the participation of Red and Brooke on the show this season, given that they both did a really good job most of the season and turned in a number of great performances. Yet, we do still think that this was a race entering the episode with both Chloe and Addison out in front — ridiculous out in front, in fact. If Red or Brooke managed to take home the title at the end of this it very well could be considered one of the biggest upset victories in the history of the franchise.
Before getting to the end result, The Voice of course made us wait through a number of other performances, including some superstar duets who were, to put it lightly, a little bit of a mixed bag. They always are. It’s just the nature of this show that some people are going to draw the short straw when it comes to duets.
We know that many of you aren’t hear to read about some of the duets, though; with that, let’s just talk results. The winner of this season is in fact Chloe Kohanski, who managed to accomplish quite a bit on her way to the title. She also gives Blake Shelton yet another winner, but this one’s rare for him in that she doesn’t really have anything to do with country. Sure, Cassadee Pope wasn’t really a country singer through all of her season of the show but this is absolutely what she became at the end of it.
Given Chloe’s super-distinctive voice, we do think that she has a chance at a future beyond this season — a chance. There’s still nothing altogether guaranteed when you think about the past mistakes of post-The Voice record labels.
