Madam Secretary season 4 episode 10 all about baby steps

Madam Secretary season 4 episode 10

Madam Secretary season 4 episode 10 was a story of progress, but also a reminder that sometimes progress comes one small step at a time.

At the center of the episode was the Women Transform the World conference, a place where Elizabeth McCord had an opportunity to speak and a place that the Secretary of State wanted to be able to arrive at in order to boast of some of the great achievements that she and other women have made. Nothing that happened in this episode takes away from that. She wanted to be able to transform Afghanistan completely, to turn it into a place where there could be both a stable government and women could work and live in the way in which they should.

Unfortunately, the fruits of her labor were left incomplete. While Elizabeth may have gotten some of what she wanted, women were still not allowed government positions in the compromise that was handed out. The cost of trying to force things was too high, and the unrest could’ve led to the country becoming what it was in the early 2000’s. Slow progress. That’s what Elizabeth helped to achieve, and also the hope that this could lead to larger progress down the road.

This episode of Madam Secretary could’ve also found itself titled “the end result of idealism and realism.” With Elizabeth running the State Department and with some of the other heroes still out there in the world, there is hope for the idealism to become reality down the line. There are, after all, suggestions that Elizabeth could run for President down the line…

Your Stevie – Dmitri update

The relationship between the two is still relatively covert, as Dmitri is clearly enjoying being in a relationship and, for the first time since her previous breakup, Elizabeth’s daughter is feeling like herself. Yet, he’s harboring a secret — he’s being watched, and he’s finding himself getting so caught up in the state of his relationship right now that he’s having a hard time confessing to everything that is going on.

Also Daisy had a chance to return to work and visit Joe’s mother — it’s a shame that Kat Sandoval was missing from this episode entirely given that we were just starting to get used to having Sara Ramirez in the cast!
