TV Quick Hits: Love season 3, Roseanne revival premiere date; Phoebe Tonkin’s new gig
Let’s kick off this edition of CarterMatt TV Quick Hits with news that many fans have been clamoring to know for some time: The Roseanne revival premiere date!
On Tuesday, March 27 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time, the return of the iconic sitcom is going to be coming your way over on ABC. The first two episodes of the revival are going to air back to back, and the following week The Middle will return to the air at a slightly-later time in 8:30 p.m. Eastern.
While the Roseanne revival has a fairly small episode order, it will remain on the air from the 27th until the end of May sweeps. As for what the ratings expectations should be it’s difficult to ascertain; Will & Grace in its return to NBC has generated solid numbers but it is a far cry from what they were back when it originally aired many years ago. With Roseanne we expect a solid performance, but not anything that is going to blow the roof off of ABC’s headquarters. It’s a different time now and there are so many different ways in which viewers can check out new episodes of some of their favorite shows.
The Roseanne revival premiere means that one ABC show will be off the schedule Tuesdays — signs point to it being The Mayor, mostly given the disappointing ratings for it to date – which is a real shame because that show is really funny.
As for some other news on the day…
