Lucifer season 3 episode 11 heads back to the past

Lucifer season 3 episode 11

When Lucifer season 3 episode 11 airs on Fox January 1, you may be slightly confused with the lack of forward movement. After all, this episode isn’t actually going to address anything that just happened with the title character and Marcus Pierce / Cain in the closing minutes of Monday’s big cliffhanger; instead, we’re going back to the past to when Lucifer first arrived to Los Angeles.

This episode is entitled “City of Angels?” (great use of question mark here), and this is going to be the final of the four episodes of the show that were filmed last season. If you do want some more news on what’s coming, we suggest that you take a look at the attached synopsis:

In a flashback episode that takes place when Lucifer first came to LA, Amenadiel comes to retrieve his fallen brother, but is shocked when he is mugged. Amenadiel enlists Lucifer’s help to track down the mugger and Lucifer, in turn, offers his assistance – but only in exchange for a favor. Meanwhile, Chloe and Dan – who are still married – investigate the murder of an MMA fighter, Aidan Scott, at the hands of the same killer who mugged Amenadiel.

Following this episode, the good news is twofold: You’re going to have some opportunities to understand some of Lucifer’s earlier days in Los Angeles; beyond that, we’re also hoping that there are going to be chances to push things forward with Lucifer and Cain. The rest of the season will take place in the present without any more standalone episodes stopping the momentum. We do think that many of these standalones are pretty good, but the big problem with them is the simple fact that they mess around with momentum and it’s still pretty clear with them that the show is airing out of order with some of these.

Lucifer season 3 will air new episodes throughout the month of January; hopefully, we’re going to have even more details to share about some other upcoming installments soon.
