Blue Bloods season 8 episode 11 spoilers: Frank takes on Erin’s office
Per the official Blue Bloods season 8 episode 11 synopsis below, you’re going to be getting in this hour Frank at odds with his daughter Erin over a new initiative that she and her office are working on — it’s one that probably has caused a lot of discussion in the real-world for real cops, so it only makes sense it would be discussed here:
“Second Chances” – When a journalist disappears while working on an exposé about an innocent man serving time for murder, Danny and Baez hope that reexamining the original case will help find her. Also, Frank reluctantly speaks out against an initiative led by Erin’s office to consider drug abuse as a disease first, and a crime second, on BLUE BLOODS, Friday, Jan. 5 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
One of the biggest discussion points at the moment with the legal system is whether or not non-violent drug offenders are being viewed through the right lens. Are they being sentenced too hard for some of their crimes, or ultimately sentenced just right? It’s a complicated issue and everyone will have their own opinion on it — for Erin’s office, it’s clear that her focus is being shifted over to leaning towards rehabilitation as the best way to help users as opposed to punishing them. It’s understandable while the NYPD would be hesitant to go along with this.
There is no mention of Jamie and Eddie, unfortunately, in this synopsis — let’s hope that they are still going to have a role to play here. There have already been episodes this season with them on the sidelines.
