NCIS: New Orleans season 4 episode 10 review: Who is Hamilton’s partner?

NCIS: New Orleans season 4 episode 10

NCIS: New Orleans season 4 episode 10 was by far the most important episode of the season and there was one simple reason for it: The return of former Mayor Hamilton. This was a man who did unspeakable things last season to the point that Pride was willing to risk his career in order to stop him.

Well, let’s just say things got chaotic tonight when we learned that Douglas could get out on parole thanks in part to a mystery partner. The prosecution thought that they could use him in order to get the truth out there and they were willing to cut a deal in order to do it. As you would imagine (much to the surprise of no one), Pride wasn’t interested in putting up what these people were putting down.

One of the things that did complicate some of Pride’s plans was that this partner was apparently killing some other people involved in the Clearwater scheme, mostly by a means of self-preservation. Pride was desperate to learn this person’s identity, while at the same time also figure out how to keep Hamilton in prison. After a situation turned into bedlam at the courthouse Pride ended up kidnapping Hamilton, desperate to get answers. He didn’t kill him, but when he fell into the water outside the dam, there was a brief second where he seemed to contemplate letting him drown. That didn’t happen. Pride saved his life and on the other side of it, the police showed up to put Hamilton back in handcuffs.

Other good news for Pride: In the midst of his runabout with Hamilton the NCIS team managed to find a hit-woman who was responsible for carrying out the duties of Hamilton’s partner — a prominent judge. The episode concluded with the guilty party in handcuffs.

Was Pride in trouble because of his actions?

While he easily could have been, in the end it was determined that he was in the clear. For now, he doesn’t have to worry about the higher-ups looking over his shoulder anymore.

So how did Pride celebrate being released of this burden? Well, he spent a little more time with Rita and following that, he went back to prison to pay a visit to someone else — his father. It was someone he should’ve seen a while back. He managed to get him parole, but they clearly do have a lot of unresolved issues they still have to work through.

CarterMatt Verdict

This was a worthy conclusion for NCIS: New Orleans season 4 — or at least the first part of it. Many different boxes were checked and the entire hour was lifted by a hell of a performance from Scott Bakula — maybe the best of the entire season.
