The Bachelor spotlight: Stylist Ali Harrington has Oklahoma connections, Nickelback admiration

Ali Harrington

In our first The Bachelor spotlight of the season, we’re focusing our attention on Ali Harrington — a woman who seems cut out of the same cloth as many women before her on this show. She’s from Oklahoma (Bachelor Country), works in the fashion/style industry as a personal stylist, and is 27 years old — which seems to be about the average age for most constants on the show.

What we know about her going into this season of the show is fairly simple — she’s probably going to appear on another version of this franchise in the future. Just look at her Instagram, for starters — she seems ready for The Bachelor to premiere tomorrow, and she’s also showing that she has some personality and a sense of humor. That’s what producers for the show look for as much as anything on the show these days.

Think of Ali going into the show as a Jen Saviano or a JoJo Fletcher, someone with smarts, a sense of humor, and enough self-awareness to not completely fall off a cliff. (The fact that she’s willing to admit to liking Nickelback has to earn her some brownie points, no?)

What are her chances with Arie Luyendyk Jr.? – It’s possible. For starters, Oklahoma is the sort of place where his line of work in racing is appreciated. Also, we don’t think that she is going into the season unaware as to what this show is. Maybe she, like many other people this season, thought that Peter Kraus was going to be the lead — yet, we don’t think she’ll be immediately opposed to Arie.

Other odds and ends – For starters, she notes in her ABC bio that if she could be in any fictional character, she’d be Wonder Woman. Get prepared to hear this about a THOUSAND TIMES THIS SEASON FROM CONTESTANTS in bios and other preseason stuff. Expect as many Wonder Woman references as humanly possible, even if ABC and Marvel are owned by Disney and all the references to the character may have an executive punching a hole in a wall. Captain Marvel’s not out yet, and other than Black Widow Marvel’s still lacking in the female superhero department.

Also, Ali seems to love coffee, judging from her Instagram — which is good, given that she’s probably going to need that during this season to keep from falling asleep on some of those midnight cocktail parties.

We’re sending Past Ali (the show’s already filmed) good luck — she’s probably one of the sane ones this season so the best thing that she can hope for is that she doesn’t win and gets a ton of Instagram followers for whatever sponsored posts are inevitably coming her way.
