Law & Order: SVU season 19 fall finale video: A source of Noah tension

If you are worried about Benson and Noah going into the Law & Order: SVU season 19 fall finale, you’re not the only ones. This is an episode that is going to open up a lot of wounds and show Olivia that even though she’s far from the most trusting person on the planet, she may have still been too trusting when it comes to Sheila. Earlier this season Noah’s biological grandmother reentered the picture and wanted to be a part of her grandson’s life. Benson did her best to look into her and didn’t assess any sort of major threat. The two started to spend some time together and on the surface, it didn’t appear as though Sheila was any trouble.

However, all of that could change on the winter finale when there is a genuine reason for Olivia to start questioning Sheila’s motives. In the sneak peek below you can see more of what Olivia is worried about. Benson picks up her adoptive son after spending some time with Sheila when Noah, out of the blue, brings up the name of his biological mother. For one reason or another, Sheila has decided to introduce Ellie Porter as a subject of conversation during her talks with Noah, which is something that Olivia isn’t really all that excited about.

In a way it makes some sense given that Ellie was a huge part of her life and we know already that Sheila harbors a great deal of guilt over what happened to her. It’s probably some of that guilt that now drives her in order to be a better caregiver and grandmother to Noah now.

The main issue here comes in that clearly, Benson doesn’t want Noah to hear all that much about his real mother and for good reason. There’s a lot of pain and heartache there and she’s done everything in her power in order to ensure that Noah has a good, caring home where there are no major problems that he has to worry about. Bringing up Ellie is pouring salt on a wound, and it’s one that Noah may not old enough to altogether understand.

By the end of this fall finale, we have a feeling that Benson and Sheila are going to need to have a serious talk. We know that this is, in turn, going to lead to a cliffhanger ending — one that could leave many within the SVU fandom super-emotional!
