Easy season 3 renewal: Is it going to happen at Netflix?
In terms of format, Easy has something going for it these days that many other shows do not: An anthology feel. It can choose to bring back characters, but it’s not beholden to doing that. The primary common thread of most of these stories comes via the Chicago setting. There’s always going to be something for this show to talk about just because life in the Windy City is never going to suddenly becoming boring. It’s one of the biggest cultural melting pots in America, it has a rich history, and there are class and social issues there almost every day. The spotlight, one way or another, is always going to be on the city and in that way it reminds us of Sex and the City since New York was it’s own character on that show too.
Netflix will be the main determining factor in an Easy season 3 renewal happening and one of the things that they have to figure out is whether or not they are altogether pleased with the show as a whole. We would hope that they are, but you never quite know what Netflix is thinking. That’s complicated more by the simple fact that the streaming service does not exactly like to disclose much in the way of information on some of their shows’ ratings. They keep those cards close to the vest and don’t like to give out information publicly.
Since this is an anthology there’s less pressure to order a new season in the near future. Do you want to make the move while some out there remember that the show exists? Sure, but this can be paced a little bit differently and can be based more around when there are some more stories to tell.
