Robert Taylor still hoping for Longmire movies following series finale on Netflix

Robert TaylorIn the wake of the Longmire series finale coming and going on Netflix earlier this month, the series’ own star in Robert Taylor has now said that he is open to more!

While during a Facebook Live session discussing the final season of the show, Taylor said it would be “so much fun” to be able to return to the show down the road to make some movies. It’s possible that this could be an annual tradition, just as it could be something that happens every couple of years. While Taylor’s endorsement of the idea is far from a surprise (he’s expressed an interest in having this happen before), it’s nice to see that much of the fandom is on board with the idea following the end of the series itself.

We’ll say this — if the parties involved find a way to make the movies happen, it’s pretty easy to see how it could work out for the cast and crew — provided that they have free time. When CarterMatt interviewed Katee Sackhoff about the final season earlier this month, one of the things that she marveled at (when it comes to the show) is how efficient the production team is at getting things done. They’re able to make ten episodes in a relatively short period of time, and many of these episodes are more than an hour in length. As a result of that, don’t you have to think they could do a movie every year or two?

Based on where the series left off, there is so much more story still left to explore. For example, it’s hard to imagine a retired Walt Longmire settling into that life and not taking all that great of an interest in solving crimes or helping in some capacity. This job is addictive, to say the least, and Walt’s very good at it despite being a little rough around the edges. As for the rest of the cast, it’s fairly easy to project ways in which they are going to be integrated into the story coming up. For example, Henry is running the Four Arrows casino now and we’ve come to know that it is very much a hotbed for all sorts of crime.

Once there is more news on this subject one way or another, we’ll be sure to let you know.
