Chicago PD season 5 on set with Marina Squerciati: Teases on Burgess’ new boyfriend
So what was it like for Marina Squerciati to work with Appelman? While at One Chicago Day earlier this fall the CarterMatt had a chance to ask her some questions about it:
“It’s funny, because [Patrick John Flueger] was acting super-jealous. He was being like ‘who is this guy! I don’t like him.’ Then, he opened the trailer door and Zach Appelman was there and he was like ‘oh I’m sorry man, you’re cool.’
“He was nice! I really liked him and we had a really good time. We had to film our really important scene the first day, so we actually went out to dinner the night before to get to know each other and get a good rapport.”
For those of you wondering whether or not Burgess will serve as a comfort to Atwater in the midst of his own personal struggle (remember that his siblings just left Chicago due to all of the crime and threats of violence), Squerciati also had some interesting things to say on that subject:
“Oh, I think that will be Ruzek. One of the things that stopped Atwater from having fun and playing in the [sandbox] was these kids. He was ostensibly a parent, so now in my mind I think he and Ruzek are going to hit the town.”
Overall there should be a number of interesting things coming up for Burgess this season, and maybe some of them will be revealed on Wednesday’s episode. As for her relationship with Ruzek, we do think that there are many things that complicate things between the two of them, including him having to serve as a mole for Denny Woods. That’s probably his priority for now.
Remember that this episode of Chicago PD airs Wednesday night on NBC at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time. You can preview it further by heading over to the link here.
