The Good Doctor episode 10 marks a pretty significant chapter in the future of the show. The title is a big indicator of that: “Sacrifice.” This installment marks an opportunity to see whether or not these characters can handle some of the most difficult stakes thrown at them — they have to do things for others.
You would think that, on the surface, this wouldn’t be all that difficult given their jobs. Shouldn’t doctors be able to sacrifice? Sure … in theory. The reality here is that it’s often far more challenging than you would first imagine.
Below, The Good Doctor episode 10 synopsis CarterMatt has for you gives you a little more insight as to what is coming up:
Members of the hospital’s surgical team are initially impressed with a charming young doctor, but his true character puts one of them in an awkward position at work. Meanwhile, Dr. Glassman feels Dr. Shaun Murphy needs a little more support with his personal life and suggests he meet with a therapist. However, Shaun is determined to show him that he can do it on his own.
By the end of the hour, maybe you’ll get a better sense as to who Shaun is, what he wants, and what Dr. Glassman can really do in order to help him. We do know that these characters are going to be put through the wringer here.
One other thing that you do have to remember is that with a hiatus looming (next week is the winter finale), there’s a pretty good chance that there are some big cliffhangers that are in store for many of the characters. This is not the type of show that will tie up all loose ends — they want to ensure that you are still watching when The Good Doctor comes back on the air in the new year. We’ll have some more news on the rest of the season soon, depending on the show’s return date. The schedule for this show could be dependent in part on what’s happening when it comes to the Olympics. As good as the ratings are for the Good Doctor, it likely doesn’t want to go up against the Olympics.
