Daredevil season 3 – Wilson Bethel casting: Hart of Dixie alum playing major role

With Daredevil season 3 production kicking off the wheels are in motion, but are we going to have another amazing season like the first or will it be a mishmash like season 2? With the information we have so far, we are thinking that the show is finding a way to bring in a lot what we loved about season 1 – amazing villains and strong actors.

According to a new report coming in via Variety, Hart of Dixie alum Wilson Bethel is going to be joining the show in a major capacity. As for who he will play exactly some details are scarce; what is known is that the character will be taking on the role of an FBI agent, someone who is going to play a key role both with the title character (Charlie Cox) and then also Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio), who is going to have a much larger role this season than he did back in season 2.

Bringing in someone who is a part of law enforcement only seems right when you think about this show. There’s only so much that Matt Murdock is going to be able to do (also he’s a vigilante and police rarely like that in the comic book world), and having someone like Bethel’s character aboard could be interesting both as a potential friend or foe to Daredevil.

Here’s the flip side to this casting: It’s possible that Bethel could actually be playing the part of Stanley Carter, who is otherwise known as the Sin-Eater in the comics. He is someone who eventually comes to target prominent members of law enforcement and other people who he believes to be sinful. There are some similarities here with Vigilante on Arrow at the moment and also the Executioner from the Batman universe. One of the main differences is that we find the Sin-eater to be infinitely more terrifying. If Bethel ends up playing this character, it has to be one of the most exciting, interesting ones that he’s had a chance to take on his career. Mind you, we absolutely loved the character he had on Hart of Dixie, one of the more underrated and entertaining shows out there.

Daredevil season 3 is still a rather long time from premiering. At the moment the earliest we expect to see the show on Netflix is in either late 2018 or early 2019. Presumably new seasons of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage are going to air before it does based on where they are when it comes to both filming and casting.
