In a new post on Twitter (which you can check out below), AMC confirmed that the crossover character will be revealed this weekend on an episode of Talking Dead. There have been many theories already about who this character could be, with there being two clear options: Either this character is someone from the Fear the Walking Dead universe who eventually shows up on the AMC show proper, or this is someone who is appearing in the past on the spin-off series, which is currently a little ways behind the regular show in the timeline.
Most of the theories out there point to Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz) as someone who could potentially be a part of the new version of the show, largely because of him being located closer to the Fear the Walking Dead world a little earlier on his life. Given that the character is now dead on The Walking Dead proper it wouldn’t require a whole lot of legwork in order to make this happen. The only other real possibility if you’re using a Walking Dead character is to have it be Heath or someone else who is not an active part of the AMC show at the moment since they can’t do work on two different shows at the same time.
Just from a ratings standpoint alone it does make a great deal of sense in order for the character to be on Fear the Walking Dead rather than the main show, just because it’s the one that needs a little more attention of the two. It’s also the one that may be the stronger show at this point, at least when thinking about some of the great stuff that Fear the Walking Dead brought to the table on this past season compared to some of the drawn-out Walking Dead content lately.
