Arrow star Katie Cassidy tributes late father David Cassidy in touching post

David Cassidy

For the first time since his sad death earlier this week, Katie Cassidy has opened up on the subject of her late father David.

In a post on Twitter, the Arrow and former Gossip Girl star had the following to say:

“Words cant express the solace our family’s received from all the love & support during this trying time. My father’s last words were “So much wasted time”. This will be a daily reminder for me to share my gratitude with those I love as to never waste another minute….thank you.”

It was reported over the years that Katie and her father had a troubled relationship, and that seems to be referenced with these words, a reminder to embrace every moment – something that we should all remember to do. It’s a touching message, and we know that there was an outpouring of love towards her in the days following her father going into liver failure.

Over the years we’ve heard nothing but positive stories about Cassidy, including her staying late at many conventions in order to meet fans and sign autographs. She’s also been known to have conversations rather than a quick “hello” and sending people on their way. We hope that she is getting all of the love and support that she needs during this time of need — we know that she is very close to her entire Arrow family and hope that she is getting a great deal of love there too.

As you can read more over at the link here, David Cassidy is one of the most preeminent teen idols of all time. He’s known as the star of The Partridge Family, but he used that in order to leverage an incredible music career that including hits like “I Think I Love You” and a wide array of others over the years. In the later years he has guest-starred on some other shows in addition to appearing on some reality franchises.

Cassidy will be missed, and we continue to offer up our thoughts and condolences to everyone who loved him both as an artist and also a person. (Photo: ABC.)
