Outlander season 3 episode 11 photos: Caitriona Balfe center of ‘Uncharted’ story
Based on all early indications this is going to be an enormous episode for Caitriona Balfe and her character of Claire Fraser, and for a very good reason. At the end of this past episode we saw Claire take a big leap, one in hopes of making it over to the Artemis and Jamie once more. However, this did not quite work out as according to plan. When the story picks up she is going to find herself on a small island in the Caribbean, desperate to figure out a way to complete her journey back to Jamie. This is no ordinary mission given that there is such a specific time limit. If she doesn’t make it to Jamaica before the Porpoise and the Artemis crew collide, Jamie is going to find himself arrested.
Based on some of these photos, Claire is not anywhere close to making it to that point just yet. She has to, instead, try to determine if there is a way to communicate some of her goals to the locals. Not all of them may speak her language, and not all of them may share in her set of priorities.
One of the locals you see below is Father Fogden, a priest who is on the island for a very specific reason. Let’s just say that he is not your ordinary man of the cloth. The other character pictured is Mamacita (Victoria Leporia), a woman who has a connection of her own to Fogden. If you’ve read the Diana Gabaldon books you know a little bit about these characters already — they exist to help Claire, but they also exist to help explain some of the people who may have been inhabiting the islands at around this time. These are people looking for their own way of life and this place may provide them with a unique opportunity to do just that.
Will this episode eventually lead to Claire finding her way back to Jamie? Given that there are only three episodes still to go this season, we absolutely hope so. Outlander has to get itself in gear to produce another big reunion soon; otherwise, you run the risk of the show feeling a little rushed at the tail end — even if season 4 features a lot of Jamie and Claire together, we’re an impatient bunch when it comes to stories with them on screen together.
