The Gotham season 4 – Jerome story has implications for Gotham season 5
One thing we can say is that the producers seem to be really high on what the Jerome arc looks like this time around. Speaking to ComicBook.com about what the show has coming up for this character — who technically still isn’t the Joker per see — executive producer Bryan Wynbrandt said the following:
“You’re going to love it and the fans are going to love it and it goes to a really interesting place and has ripple effects not just in this season but hopefully, knock on wood, next season as well.”
From one perspective, hearing Wynbrandt talk about a season 5 is fairly exciting; yet, we’re equally nervous about it given that the ratings haven’t been amazing most of the season. Still, if you plan ahead and hope for the best, maybe you can wish it into existence … maybe. The idea of getting more Jerome certainly is exciting and we do like how the show is now using him. We’re getting a chance to see a little bit of him here and there a season — he doesn’t show up so much that he overshadows the other villains, and this does give some of the other characters a little bit more time in the spotlight. Just remember that the show has everyone from Solomon Grundy to Oswald Cobblepot to the upcoming Peyton List iteration of Poison Ivy to the Sirens to Szasz to Firefly to Mr. Freeze and many others to think about.
Now, the main question is when the remainder of the Jerome arc is going to air after the fall finale. Will Gotham take a long hiatus and not come back in January? That’s possible since Fox hasn’t confirmed anything just yet. Personally, we hope that it does come back for a few weeks and then take a break for the Winter Olympics.
