The Fosters season 5 episode 10 promo tackles DACA, romantic conflict

Fosters season 5 episode 10

With The Fosters season 5 episode 10 premiering on Freeform early next year, the network wants to hype up some of what’s coming. What is one of the best ways that they know how to do that? Judging from the promo below (via Entertainment Weekly), it is by hyping up some of the social issues that are at the forefront of the series.

It shouldn’t be a surprise that Freeform would want to do this, as they clearly recognize that one of the main selling points of The Fosters from the beginning is setting up some of the various societal issues at play. From the start of the series we’ve seen such things explored as gender identity, equality, relationships, immigration, the problems within the foster care system, and even education reform.

Judging from the promo alone the story of DACA with Ximena still within her Sanctuary, (a church) is going to remain one of the most important stories coming up. At the end of the first half of the season she, (alongside Callie and AJ) fled there to avoid being taken in by ICE. We recently reported at CarterMatt that this could lead to Callie and AJ getting a chance to spend some time together and talk through some of their problems — judging from the preview, this is precisely what the two are going to have a chance to do. There’s no telling for certain if the two will become a couple again, but she admits to him that one of the biggest issues that she’s had as of late with Aaron is that he is constantly jealous of her spending time with AJ. Given everything that AJ has done as of late in order to sacrifice himself for the sake of possibly helping her, this may cause her to think even more about some of these feelings.

If you love this show, you better plan on watching it live! The Fosters is probably going to be coming back for another season (we do have some hope), but you never quite know for sure.
