How to Get Away with Murder season 4 episode 9 return date for Viola Davis, cast
Unfortunately — and like the other #TGIT shows on the air in Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal — you’re going to be waiting to get Viola Davis and company back on the air. This series is going to return on Thursday, January 18 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time, where it will air the back half of its season. Remember that How to Get Away with Murder is going to air a shorter run of episodes than some of the other Shonda Rhimes-produced shows. The main reason for that is because Davis is a very busy woman, and she continues to have a rather busy film career to go along with the show.
As for what’s coming up within these episodes, you can expect some sort of continuation of the first eight episodes of the season, but also the creation of some new mythology for the surviving characters to explore. The first handful of episodes will build towards the finale, which will probably create some sort of big cliffhanger and excitement for whatever is coming up in the aftermath of it.
Now that we’ve said that, we should say that technically, there is no official How to Get Away with Murder renewal as of yet for season 5. We hope that the show is going to be coming back for more episodes (we do think that it will given Davis’ star power), but for the time being nothing is 100% certain. We can’t just look ahead to the rest of the show automatically assuming that there will be more on the other side.
No matter when this show concludes, the one thing we’re pretty confident of is this: It’s going to end in a bloodbath. Annalise and some of her “students” have committed so much carnage since the start of the series that there’s almost sure to be some sort of substantial reckoning. Even if they all survive, it’s hard to imagine them having a happy walk off into the sunset.
