Empire season 4 episode 7 return date: Prepare for a strike
Let’s start of this CarterMatt article by giving the fine folks at Fox — the ones who are responsible for carving out their schedule — a healthy round of applause. They’ve made what we consider to be a pretty smart decision here in not airing a new episode of the show next week. Clearly, they were aware of the fact that airing on the day before Thanksgiving is not a good move when it comes to the ratings.
When the show does return on November 29, it is going to be with a story entitled “The Lady Doth Protest” that will be important for many different reasons. Let’s have the Empire season 4 episode 7 synopsis kick off that discussion:
Production comes to a halt on Empire’s 20-For-20 when Calvin and Porsha, feeling overworked by their new producer, Eddie Barker (guest star Forest Whitaker), call for a strike, leaving Cookie to find a solution to the issue. In an attempt to prove that he can still be the man he was before the explosion, Lucious arranges a deal on Hakeem’s behalf, not knowing the repercussions that could follow. Meanwhile, love is in the air for Jamal and Andre, who each express their feelings for their significant others, not knowing the secrets that are being kept from them in the all-new “The Lady Doth Protest” episode of EMPIRE airing Wednesday, Nov. 29 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. This is an episode that could cause a lot of problems for Lucious and Cookie depending on what happens with the 20-For-20, which may be the most blatant rip-off (intentionally so) of 30-For-30 that we’ve ever seen. Beyond that, we’re pretty sure that the romantic issues for Jamal and Andre aren’t going to work out all that well for them. They rarely ever do.
Hopefully, the Empire season 4 episode 7 return date being a little bit later in the month won’t do anything to shed viewers who may grow apathetic of the show during the hiatus. It’s still a risk worth taking, given that the only other possible scenario is one with a less-favorable result.
