Following tonight’s Saturday Night Live hosted by Tiffany Haddish, Chance the Rapper is coming on board!
Next week’s new edition of the show is going to be one of the most interesting ones we’ve seen so far in season 43. Chance the Rapper (who has been a musical guest on the show in the past) is spreading his wings and showing off more of what he can do. Our feeling is that he’s a guy with a Bruno Mars upside as host — he’s extremely versatile and has a lot of his charisma. It feels like he could easily make fun of himself without hesitation (which is always a good sign that we are in for a great show!). He will appreciate the opportunity as someone who’s really worked hard for every single opportunity he’s had as an independent artist and entertainer.
For the second straight week, what’s interesting is that you can argue that the musical guest is even more notable than the host. For the November 18 show Eminem is performing, which makes some sense given that he’s just released his new single “Walk on Water.” (Does this mean that Beyoncé could end up appearing in some capacity on the show as well?)
For those who have somehow missed it, Taylor Swift is performing on SNL tonight — we’ll be back to discuss a little more in the way of her musical stylings a little bit later in the evening.
This is far from Eminem’s first appearance as a performer on the show. The last time we saw him was when Kerry Washington hosted in order to perform a set of songs including “Berserk.” He’s one of the best live performers in all of the hip-hop genre, so it’s really not all that much of a surprise as to why SNL would want him. There is this part of us that does want to see Eminem more in actual sketches, though we recognize the odds of that happening are slim to none.
What do you think about the Chance the Rapper – Eminem duo for the next new SNL episode? Let us know your thoughts right now in the comments!
