The Big Bang Theory season 11 episode 8: Dean Norris returns!
The synopsis CarterMatt has for you below for “The Tesla Recoil” confirms the return of the Breaking Bad alum and Claws star as Col. Williams — not only that, but it gives us a little more surprising news regarding his return:
“The Tesla Recoil” – Leonard and Wolowitz are furious after they learn Sheldon went to work with the military behind their backs. Also, while Bernadette is on bed rest, she asks Raj to do some digging when she suspects Ruchi is trying to steal her job, on THE BIG BANG THEORY, Thursday, Nov. 16 (8:00-8:31 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
The idea of Sheldon working with the military is somewhat surprising given that the last time some of these guys were mixed up with them, it didn’t necessarily have the best ending in the world. While they got paid as a result of all their hard work, at the same time they did basically lose their entire project. They weren’t heralded for the work and didn’t get to keep any sort of ownership. It was, to quote a famous Doctor Who monologue, like breath on a mirror — just there and gone.
It is cool to get Norris back in the role though, especially since we mostly see him in dramas — that includes his recent guest arc on the final season of Scandal where he is working with Jeff Perry.
As for the Bernadette / Raj / Ruchi story…
This could be interesting. We certainly hope that Ruchi isn’t out to steal Bernie’s job since that would mean effectively that he’s got yet another love interest with built-in conflict with some of the other characters. If you recall, one of the issues between Emily and him was that Emily didn’t have the best relationship with Penny — they just didn’t get along for some time. In general, though, that story arc with Emily and Raj was rather strange.
