Talking Dead lineup: The Norman Reedus – Chris Hardwick hour
For the time being, Reedus is the only confirmed guest for tonight’s Talking Dead episode — there could be more coming, but we’re going here (as we always do) based on the information on the AMC website. It is an interesting move to promote only Norman, and typically this would suggest that tonight is a very big episode for the Daryl Dixon character (or a possible character death).
Is there something more at play here, though? There may very well be, given that tongiht also marks the debut of Ride with Norman Reedus season 2, which is airing right after the Chris Hardwick-hosted talk show. Talking Dead is basically the meat of what is a Norman Reedus sandwich happening on AMC — you’re going to get him one show, another show, and then a third show at the very end. What’s also so interesting is that all of these shows are going to bring a different dimension of Reedus. With The Walking Dead you have him acting as Daryl, then on Talking Dead you’ve got him more in an interview setting and then Ride with Norman Reedus has a more relaxed side of him.
Getting Norman on Talking Dead is a treat given that it’s typically only a couple of times at most that you are able to get him per season on the aftershow. One of the challenges that is present with the talk show is working around the schedules of these actors that not only have responsibilities with The Walking Dead, but also their other projects. Logistically there’s also hoops to jump through since there are really only so many opportunities that you have to get the actors out to Los Angeles — The Walking Dead films in Atlanta, and during the first part of the season production is still going on for some of the later episodes. Therefore, the show has to work it out so that actors can appear and get back on set in plenty of time to film their scenes. There’s also the challenge here of figuring out the right episodes of Talking Dead to appear on that correspond with their character.
Basically, what we’re trying to say that this is a bigger challenge than most out there realize.
