Grey’s Anatomy season 14 episode 7 spoilers: Hidden gems in 300th episode

Grey’s Anatomy season 14 episode 7 is, (as you may know by now) the 300th episode of the show. This is a momentous occasion and a chance to celebrate the series’ longevity. So few shows make it to this point that you really should throw a big bash! If there is a 400th episode, after all, it won’t happen until season 18. There’s no telling if the series makes it that far, though it would be really nice to see it make it there.

As for how the show is planning to celebrate this big occasion, one of the things that the producers are seemingly going for at the moment is trying to celebrate the entire run of the show rather than just where some of the characters are now. While we’re not saying that there will be cameos of former cast members, there will be chances to celebrate some of those memorable people and story arcs you have come to know and love over time.

In speaking a little bit more on some of the specific plans to Entertainment Weekly, show executive producer Krista Vernoff (who wrote the hour) offered up the following message:

“I did my best to look back at our history and move our story forward simultaneously … I tried to honor the beloved char­acters who have come and gone during the 14 seasons of our show. I might not have hit all of them, but I paid some small ­tribute to most.

“I also created a little Easter egg hunt for the avid fans. I don’t want to give too much away, but keep your eyes and ears peeled — and keep your tissues handy!”

Will the show pay tribute to Izzie? The character is persona non grata on the show these days much in the way that Katherine Heigl is — there are certainly many reasons for it that don’t need to be repeated here, but at some point before the finale we’d love to at least see the storyline revisited even if it’s just via a reference. She was, (love her or hate her) a huge part of the show.
