The Blacklist season 5 episode 7 preview: Dembe undercover; Tom in danger
In the Blacklist season 5 episode 7 synopsis below, there are a few more hints as to what’s going to be coming up:
11/08/2017 (08:00PM – 09:00PM) (Wednesday) : Red (James Spader) and the Task Force place Dembe (Hisham Tawfiq) undercover to infiltrate an international human smuggling organization, but when communication is lost, they must intervene. Meanwhile, Tom’s (Ryan Eggold) investigation into the suitcase lands him in grave danger. TV-14 S, V
There is clearly quite a bit to look forward to when it comes to The Blacklist season 5 episode 7, but of course the continuing saga of Tom versus Reddington has to be near the top of the list. The big moment involving these two characters was first set up in the closing minutes of the premiere and it is clearly something that the masterminds behind the show are hoping to explore more … at least for a couple more episodes. By the middle of the month, we could be at the natural end of this story — which could mean in turn the natural end of Tom, provided that we’re meant to take that flash-forward at the start of the season at face value.
If we do end up losing Tom from The Blacklist it’d be a complete game-changer; it would alter the entire course of Liz Keen’s life and beyond that, completely change her relationship with Reddington if she learns that he is responsible for it. She may already be shutting down when it comes to her feelings towards him if the secret of the suitcase is as devastating as it seems.
What is assured based on what The Blacklist showed us both tonight and earlier this season is this: Reddington is willing to kill in order to ensure that his secret stays buried. It’s too bad that the promo below focuses mostly on the case of the week, given that it doesn’t offer up much of an indicator as to what is coming beyond that.

I adore Hisham and his character Dembe but it’s getting ridiculous that every support character is getting more screen time and story line than Diego Klattenhoff/Ressler who is the second male lead and third billed after Spader and Boone. He literally averages 3 mins per episode and that is sad.
