NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 episode 6 preview: Eric Christian Olsen showcase

NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 episode 6

Who doesn’t love Eric Christian Olsen and his NCIS: Los Angeles character of Marty Deeks? You know that we do here at CarterMatt. He’s exciting, vivacious, and typically has a smile on his face whenever you see him. There are a few exceptions to the rule, though, and one of them could come up on next week’s episode “Can I Get a Witness?” — one of the biggest Deeks episodes of the season.

This installment presents a unique opportunity to get to see Deeks at the center of a case. He will have many opportunities to be a hero, and much of it will have to do with his former partner over at the LAPD. In general NCIS: Los Angeles season 8 episode 6 is going to be more LAPD-centric than any other episode this season. There are times in which you watch this series and start to forget that Deeks is technically not a member of NCIS proper. The presence of Shay Mosley this season mitigates that somewhat, mostly because she reminds us all the time that Deeks is not technically one of them. That generates mistrust for her, and at the same time makes her question the effectiveness of her other agents. Mosley fails to realize that Deeks combining his powers with Kensi, a la a two-person Captain Planet, makes both of them stronger.

CarterMatt has a few more details for you when it comes to NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 episode 6 courtesy of the CBS synopsis below:

“Can I Get A Witness?” – LAPD Detective Whiting (Karina Logue) calls in a favor from Deeks after his former partner, LAPD Lieutenant Bates (Patrick St. Esprit), goes rogue and only Deeks can bring him in, on NCIS: LOS ANGELES, Sunday, Nov. 5 (9:30-10:30 PM, ET/ 9:00-10:00 PM, PT) on the CBS Television Network.

How important a role do we expect Callen, Sam, Kensi, and others to have this week? They’re always a part of the show, but they could very well be relegated into supporting roles this week while Deeks takes the lead. It’s a little bit unusual to not have them even mentioned in an episode synopsis — the entire emphasis, (at least for the time being) remains around Deeks. As mentioned earlier, we’re all about getting as many opportunities as possible to see Olsen in the spotlight.
