Talking Dead lineup: Alanna Masterson, Tom Payne join Chris Sullivan, Chris Hardwick

Alanna Masterson

On Sunday’s new Talking Dead episode, it’s going to be a tale of two men named Chris! Chris Hardwick is of course going to be the man guiding you through much of the madness that transpires on Sunday night’s episode, but he will have some help courtesy of Chris Sullivan. The actor, best known for This Is Us and Guardians of the Galaxy, is going to make a rare TV appearance where he’s not wearing either a ton of makeup or a prosthetic. He can just be Chris … just not Chris Hardwick. This could be confusing if they both go by their first names.

As for the lineup for the episode, you’ve got a trio of very familiar faces and CarterMatt is here to break it down for you:

Alanna Masterson – This is the actress that plays Tara, and when you see her appearing on the show this early in the season it likely means one thing — well, you’re probably getting a big Tara episode early in the season. The last big Tara focused episode at Oceanside was a good one so we would like to see her get more screen time.

Tom Payne – Meanwhile, you also have the man responsible for bringing Jesus to life on the show. This is one of those characters we feel like we know, but at the same time we don’t know. It could be useful to get a little more information about what his character has coming up this season.

From a production standpoint, this episode will also feature an appearance from none other than showrunner Scott M. Gimple. He can talk about everything in The Walking Dead season 8 episode 2, and then also Fear the Walking Dead if he wants given that he will be taking on more duties over there in season 4. We stand by our claims that Fear The Walking Dead season 3 was better than The Walking Dead season 7 — come at us, internet! Do your worst…

All in all, it’s a good lineup that should make for a rather fun show.
