Chicago Med season 3 premiere: Philip Winchester appearing; more details
Per NBC, you will see Winchester come on board for the upcoming November 21 premiere at 10:00 p.m. Eastern, and it will be for a case that will feature far more of a courtroom component than you are used to seeing within Chicago Med proper. For a little more insight on that — including some more news regarding the big Dr. Charles cliffhanger at the end of season 2 — take a look at the synopsis below:
THE SHOOTING OF DR. CHARLES MOVES TO THE COURTROOM AND THINGS TURN COMPLICATED FOR THE DOCTORS AND NURSES OF CHICAGO MED IN THE SEASON THREE PREMIERE — PHILIP WINCHESTER GUEST STARS — The doctors of Chicago Med take their opinions to the extreme as they try to bring justice to the perpetrator in the shooting of Dr. Charles (Oliver Platt). Dr. Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) and Dr. Manning (Torrey DeVitto) work on a heart-wrenching case that forces them to examine their own matters of the heart. Though Robin’s (guest star Mekia Cox) brain tumor was removed and she is discharged from the rehabilitation center, Dr. Rhodes (Colin Donnell) remains on edge that her problems are not quite resolved. Meanwhile, Rhodes gets blindsided by his colleague Dr. Bekkar (guest star Norma Kuhling), Maggie (Marlyne Barrett) sticks up for a patient and Dr. Choi (Brain Tee) and April (Yaya DaCosta) try to navigate their new working relationship. S. Eptha Merkerson and Rachel DiPillo also star. Kara Killmer, Ato Essandoh, Eddie Jemison and Roland Buck III guest star.
Obviously, if you read all of that there’s a pretty good reason for us to see Winchester within the One Chicago universe once more! It’s also not the only time you’re going to be seeing him over the coming months; remember, at one point soon Stone will become a part of Law & Order: SVU and you will see him play a significant role over there. It’s nice to see Chicago Justice, even if it no longer exists as its own show, still represented in many forms. Remember that Jon Seda is now back on Chicago PD as a series regular, and Monica Barbaro already reprised her role as Anna Valdez for an episode of PD earlier this season, as well.
There’s a lot in that synopsis above that should be exciting for a number of different reasons. If you like Chicago Med for the relationships you’re going to get that in a few different forms. Meanwhile, there are also going to be plenty of medical crises that will need to be explored over time. Also, hooray for getting more of Essandoh as Dr. Latham, one of our favorite characters, in the premiere.
