Preacher season 3 renewal official, per Seth Rogen
The news was released from executive producer Seth Rogen’s Twitter (see below) when he tweeted a picture of the show’s poster with the caption “Season 3!!”.
If fans will recall, Season 2 ended in a bit of cliffhanger. Eugene and Hitler manage to escape Hell, and Hitler bolted immediately. In a motel room with the Man Dog costume, God emerges from the bathroom. Meanwhile Jesse has seemingly lost his power to command other to do as he says.
Needless to say Season 3 is about to get interesting. With Jesse seemingly having lost powers, it will be great to see how he handles this in the new season. He’s gone a long time with this power and we imagine he feels a little lost himself without it. It was part of him and although he doesn’t always use it for good, it was essential to the character. It will also be interesting to see how and when he gets his power back.
We don’t believe he will go all of Season 3 without his power, however, the writers could have him go the first few episodes without it.
In addition, now that God has arrived, Jesse has succeed in his mission to find him so what now? Well Season 3 should answer that question. Jesse wanted to find God and surely had a reason for doing so, perhaps even one that hasn’t been revealed yet.
Preacher stars Dominic Cooper (Jesse Custer), Joseph Gilgun (Cassidy), and Ruth Negga (Tulip O’Hare).
The series tells the story of Jesse Custer, a preacher in the small Texas town of Annville. Custer is accidentally possessed by the supernatural creature named Genesis, the infant of the unauthorized, unnatural coupling of an angel and a demon. As a result of Genesis, God abandons Heaven and as a result, Custer journeys across the United States attempting to literally find God. He also begins to discover the truth about his new powers. They allow him, when he wills it, to command the obedience of those who hear and comprehend his words. He is joined by his old girlfriend Tulip O’Hare, as well as a hard-drinking Irish vampire name Cassidy.
So far there are no specific details regarding Season 3, however, once we learn about them, we report it to everyone.
