Super Bowl 52 Halftime Show: Justin Timberlake to perform on NBC

Super Bowl 52 Halftime ShowWe’ve now got some big news to pass along when it comes to the Super Bowl 52 Halftime Show: Justin Timberlake is performing!

In a new post on Twitter (see the video below), Timberlake confirms alongside his pal Jimmy Fallon that he will be taking on the gig. It’s one that he is absolutely familiar with, but probably not for the right reasons. (Do we really need to get into what Timberlake’s last Super Bowl Halftime Show featured?) The Super Bowl has a tendency to be one of the most-watched events in the entire world every year, and it obviously makes some sense that they would want an artist like Timberlake with his global following to perform.

One of the things that we wonder here is this: Could NBC, who has The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, incorporate this show somewhat into the big game? We wouldn’t be altogether surprised for a number of different reasons, with one of the biggest ones being that in this current climate, it could be determined by someone out there that what matters more so than anything else is that everyone has a chance to settle in and have a rather good time watching the performance. This wouldn’t be political; instead, it could be a good time that people from all over could enjoy.

Even if the show doesn’t end up featuring Fallon we still very much expect that this is going to be a very entertaining show regardless. You’ve got someone who is high-energy who can do a wide array of musical styles, and we absolutely wouldn’t be shocked if there is some sort of epic reunion of a certain former band of his by the end of it.

If you haven’t heard…

Super Bowl 52 is going to be followed in the new year by This Is Us, which serves as a reminder that NBC is going to do their part in order to make their biggest hit all the more substantial in its second season.
