Blue Bloods season 8: Where are Jamie and Eddie?
Unfortunately, we do realize that there is no way to answer this question in simple, binary terms other than to say that at the moment it seems like the CBS show isn’t interested in featuring them prominently in every single episode these days. There could be a few different reasons for that — story commitments is one, but another one could be contractual where there are only so many episodes that they are signed to be a part of.
At this point, though, we do think that the like of Will Estes and Vanessa Ray is pretty noticeable to longtime fans, given that Jamie has been in only family dinner scenes as of late whereas Eddie has been largely MIA since the start of the season. This is a show that does tend to keep many of its cards close to the vest, and as a result of that it’s probably one that we may not get a definite answer to for a while — if ever.
Here’s the one thing that you really should know at the moment, though — it does look as though Jamie and Eddie are going to be coming back onto Blue Bloods in due time. Ray and Estes were both at the recent PaleyFest event for the show, and beyond that they have also filmed more scenes in upcoming episodes. While we cannot confirm for certain Eddie’s status next week we do know that Jamie will have a pretty big role in whatever is coming up on the show next week.
Ultimately, much of the criticism that we have about these characters stems from one simple thing above all else: We love Jamie and Eddie as characters. Therefore, we want to see as much of them as possible. The longer you don’t see them, the more in turn these questions keep being asked — in turn, the more it distracts from the show itself. The timing is also a little bit rough — given the recent departure of Amy Carlson from the show we’re in a more paranoid state than usual (even though it feels pretty clear that Estes and Ray are not going anywhere in the near future).
