Grey’s Anatomy season 14: How everything for Owen & Amelia changes

Mrs. Carter: When Grey’s Anatomy season 14 does focus in once more on Owen & Amelia, it will be rather different than it’s been.

In the past, what we’ve seen from Kevin McKidd and Caterina Scorsone’s characters is really great, dramatic stuff, but much of what they went through in retrospect is all the more complicated when you think for a moment about the context of it all. We know now so much more than we did about what was plaguing Amelia during much of her marital struggles in a brain tumor. Her recovery from this changes the entire game for the character since her very way of thinking is now altered. This means that she will have an opportunity to touch on many subjects, including children, that she didn’t beforehand because of what was going on with her.

This is all something that is confirmed more by McKidd, who told Entertainment Weekly the following recently:

“I think all those conversations will be fully back on the table because they’re almost starting from zero again … They’re getting to relearn each other again, so I think all those big life questions will absolutely be front and center for the two of them.”

Does this mean that Amelia and Owen are going to have children? Not necessarily, but it means that it can be a story point for them to explore. We would imagine that moving forward the two characters are going to do their part in order to take it slow. They won’t rush anything, but try to focus in on a happy future and what the two parties need to do in order to ensure that this happens.

You’ll get a chance to see some of the foundation of the future of Owen & Amelia on Thursday night’s new episode “Danger Zone,” but we imagine that the amount of content focused on them is going to be minimal at best. After all, this is a flashback-heavy episode and we may learn more about Owen’s time in the Middle East with Riggs, his sister Megan, and Teddy. Teddy is an issue that he and Amelia are going to need to discuss at some point, especially when you considered the kiss that the two parties shared on the show recently. This is something that they can’t just sweep under the rug and ignore for the foreseeable future. Teddy is also the sort that wouldn’t just forget that it never happened.
