When The Good Doctor episode 5 airs on ABC in seven days’ time, one of the things you could see is a very emotional hour. As a matter of fact, this could prove itself to be one of the most gut-wrenching ones that we’ve had a chance to see just because of Shaun Murphy having to wrestle with some of his own trauma. He is going to be up against a case that will hit very close to home with him because of his dead brother, and to add to some of this drama there is also a social issue that he will struggle to handle — the notion of a young patient not being able to understand some of what is happening to him.
If you look below, you can see a few more details in terms of what is coming up:
The Good Doctor episode 5 synopsis – “While in the exam area of St. Bonaventure Hospital, Dr. Shaun Murphy encounters a young patient who looks eerily similar to his deceased brother, Steve. After discovering his parents have hidden his diagnosis from him, Shaun struggles to understand why he doesn’t deserve to hear the truth about his own health. Meanwhile, the team can’t figure out what keeps triggering their patients’ increasingly severe allergic reactions and races to find the cause before the next one kills another patient.
Over the course of this episode there are many different things that we are going to have a chance to see unfold. After all, one of the biggest ones is going to be seeing Shaun trying to come to grips with patients and parents who may not share the same viewpoint as him. The promo is a reflection of some of what Shaun’s struggles are going to be as this story goes on.
Meanwhile, the rest of the team at the hospital is going to be preoccupied doing everything that they can in order to stop an outbreak. We have a feeling that this is not going to be an easy thing for them to handle, but one way or another they’ll find a way to cope with it. They’ve tackled a lot of drama already this season and there could be more coming in the future.
