Blue Bloods season 8 episode 4 video: All hands on deck

Blue Bloods season 8

With Blue Bloods season 8 episode 4 airing on CBS on Friday night, it appears (based on the new extended promo) that it’s going to take a village to resolve a new case.

To what is the nature of this case? It’s an understatement to say that the end result of it could have enormous consequences. We’re talking here about a mob case, one that has roots that trace back for many years. There will be a dead body at the center of it who, unfortunately, is that of a police officer who had the testimony that was going to be used to turn the tide. With them gone, there’s a chance that this mob is going to find a way to get off, yet again, without any major charges thrown in their direction. This puts almost all of the NYPD in a difficult spot given that they have to figure out a proper way to determine how to incriminate the mob in a limited period of time.

Just how desperate are times going to be? Think to the extent that Frank is going to be getting his coat and offering to take some matters into his own hands. You don’t exactly see Tom Selleck’s character engage direction in investigations, so when it transpires you do have to know that it is very much a big deal. All signs point towards this being an exciting/interesting case, and what we are getting here in the promo is basically a little bit more in the way of information on this very thing.

If there is one thing that does bum us out slightly about the promo it’s the continued absence of Jamie and Eddie, who have taken more of a backseat role as of late than they did in the past. It’s almost reminiscent of the end of last season. We can handle an episode here or there where the two characters are not prominently featured, but once it starts to become a pattern is where we start to become a little more bummed-out. This is even more true when you remember that this is a show that already lost one of its other longtime cast members in Amy Carlson, who was written out over the summer as Linda Reagan was killed off during the premiere.

Rest assured, this is going to be an intense episode — and we’re going to have even more coverage all about it as we get closer to it coming on the air.
