The Blacklist season 5 episode 6 spoilers: Tom Keen gets a warning

When The Blacklist season 5 episode 6 airs on NBC coming up at the start of November, the walls could be closing in on Tom Keen. He’s a guy who has had a threat dangling over him almost the entire season when it comes to the suitcase. Understanding the truth behind some of those bones will be key to unlocking what may be Raymond Reddington’s greatest secret. However, doing this comes at a tremendous cost, one that could in turn lead to his death.

Is Tom willing to listen to some of these threats? It doesn’t quite seem like it, given that the synopsis below for “No. 5” suggests that he is going to be in some additional trouble:

“While Cooper (Harry Lennix) enlists Red (James Spader) on a case of personal importance, Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) leads the Task Force on a mission to stop the resurgence of once-dormant murder-for-hire ring. Determined to find answers, Tom (Ryan Eggold) disregards a warning to halt his investigation into the suitcase.”

For those wondering whether or not Tom is “No. 5” the answer to that is no — earlier in the series it was revealed that Tom is actually No. 7 on the list. There is still something very intriguing about the fact that there is no number for the Blacklister mentioned in the title here. That suggests that this episode is VERY much worth watching, and to go along with that there’s a good shot that the person at the center of the hour is someone whose name is intentionally being kept secret for the sake of adding even more drama to the proceedings.

Think back to the start of the season, where it looked like Tom was getting himself murdered by James Spader’s character. It’s possible that it happens in this episode, given that we are clearly building up to that. Whether or not he survives — and if he does, what that means for Reddington and Liz — is one of the larger mysteries of the season.
