Lucifer season 3 episode 3 preview: Maze’s journey and a tricky case

When Lucifer season 3 episode 3 airs on Fox on October 16, it’s going to feel very much different than the first two installments this season. For one, it wasn’t even filmed this season! This installment, entitled “Mr. and Mrs. Mazikeen Smith,” was filmed earlier this year and was a part of the season 2 episode order. It’s being attached to this season as one of the four standalone installments you’re going to see. It’s not going to be connected all that much to any of the main storylines, but it should be a fun little jaunt of its own and give you more insight on Maze, one of the most interesting characters on the series and a constant source of entertainment for us. We’re not seeing all that much of Maze otherwise at the moment (she’ll be around more prominently later this season) so this should be an especially welcome edition of the show.

Lucifer season 3 episode 3 synopsis – “After talking to Lucifer and Linda, Maze realizes that she is looking for more out of life and decides to head to Canada for a tricky case. Chloe however, becomes concerned when she feels that Maze is being deceived by a scheming conman. Upon further investigation, Lucifer and Chloe make a stunning realization when they find that their target may be much closer than they thought in the all-new “Mr. and Mrs. Mazikeen Smith” episode of LUCIFER airing Monday, Oct. 16 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.”

Doesn’t this episode sound fun? There’s a lot of good stuff that we could see in here from start to finish — we should be able to learn a little bit more about Maze as a character, and then beyond that there should be some opportunities to be able to see some interesting revelations. We also just love the title as an homage to Mr. & Mrs. Smith — it gives you just the smallest inclination of where this story is going to be going over the course of the hour in terms of its tone. Who doesn’t love a good caper?
