Outlander season 3 episode 6 return date: Hope you’re okay with waiting…
Before we go any further into this article, let’s make it clear that the point of this article isn’t to talk about what happened in the episode. There will be a full review for it, and a more substantial preview for 3×06, (online at CarterMatt tonight at 9:00 p.m. Eastern) the moment that it ends on the East Coast on Starz. The focus of this article is to remind you instead of the hiatus that is coming up in case you didn’t know there was one.
There is no new episode of Outlander airing next week. Instead, the Outlander season 3 episode 6 return date is Sunday, October 22. Why is this hiatus happening? It’s one of those things that we always rack our brain trying to figure out before someone says something to us on social media and we’ll say “oh, that makes sense.” Maybe that’ll happen this time around, as well, since on paper we don’t 100% get the hiatus. What we can say is that Starz will be repeating some of the first episodes of the season so that’s an opportunity to catch up in the event you are behind.
Here’s a silver lining: Once you get through the two-week mini-Droughtlander there are no plans for there to be another hiatus this season. For the rest of the way there are going to be brand new episodes airing on Starz every Sunday so you’ll be able to dive in and enjoy until December 10. (Of course, this is tentative and could easily change.) So enjoy the break! Use it to catch up, get excited for the fourth season (the first table read already took place), or try to speculate as to how the show is going to interpret some other scenes if you’re a fan of the Diana Gabaldon books.
If you love the show and want to support it the best way you can, be sure to keep watching it live — while the app views do count and Starz keeps track of that, getting big live+same-day ratings makes for great press releases and more publicity. We’ve loved being able to write so many articles this year about the show breaking various ratings records.
With that, we’ll sign off for now to avoid getting into spoilers or anything else.

It can’t be the World Series. That’s from October 24th to November 1st. It must be something else. Anybody got any other ideas why they’re not showing until the 22nd? I sure hope it’s something darned important! And I hope they share it with us.

I was very surprised. As paying customers they should have offered it as a streamed special event tonight for iPad users. To tease us is really not very nice. Most of the fans are caught up and excited about this particular episode.

When will show runners and studios catch on to the painfully simple truth that decisions like this literally underscore the reason why torrents are so popular?
People pay a premium for cable or streaming services that offer add ons like Starz for an additional cost. Its expensive. Many cable subscribers pay a cable bill that is upwards of $200 per month so they can watch their favorite shows like this one. When they find out that the show has gone on hiatus, that brings into glaring relief a realization that $200/mo cable bill is just not worth it. So, they cut the cord and turn to torrents or other means to get their shows for free. These pay channels are literally increasing the demand for pirated movies and TV shows. This simple truth also underscores just how out of touch and disconnected these show runners truly are with their customer base.
For my part, sure, I can wait another week for the next episode. But, instead of retaining my add on subscription to Starz at the end of the Outlander season, its going to be cancelled. I’m sure that I will not be the only one to cancel either. I am not paying for interruptions, hiatuses, vacations or any other misguided decision that undermines the value that I expect in return for my monthly subscription fee.

My feeling on it is this: I much prefer watching things on TV just because it’s a more immersive experience. Plus the illegal download community, while damaging, doesn’t always decimate ratings. Game of Thrones set a record even after one of their episodes leaked.

You just lost one huge fan. This is manipulation and it’s going on my nervous. You live because of us, we don’t need you. Playing with us like this is just rude. I already read the books so I know what will happen … so STARTZ fu*$%# you!
lo

this is why people stream it, why have a subscription when you cant get the show anyway

Think yourselves lucky in the US Starz viewers. At least you get re-runs next week. Here in Australia we don’t get this privilege. We have another Droughtlander for two weeks. Thank goodness the new series of A Place to Call Home has started so we can watch David Berry in lieu.

Outlander is a fantastic show and the ratings must be through the roof at the moment but when they have all these long waits between the seasons and episodes people just get fed up and lose interest from all the waiting, you just give up and watch something else, then the ratings start to drop and before you know it they are talking about concluding or cnacelling the whole show due the ratings drop, it is just rediculous!!!!!!!

It’s better than waiting six months, like we did in season one! Poor Jamie was sitting in that window until Episode 109…The Reckoning. Waiting an extra week won’t kill us. Let’s all chill!

This is how TV works, really, there are worse things in life than having to wait an extra week to watch your show.

Not that I need to prove anything to you but I do watch. It’s still just a TV show. It’s only a week. It could be worse…like in season one. The way people are freaking out is a tad ridiculous considering everything else going on in the world and how many people are suffering. I think you can handle waiting an extra week to watch Outlander.

Is it really due to the World Series? Seriously? It’s back to HGTV until you’re back on again…………………..very disappointing.

I am disappointed that the powers that be thought that we who have been with this series since the beginning would enjoy such a wait. Those who need to catch up should do it on their own time and probably would. So that explanation sucks. I am one of the hundreds, or thousands who have been waiting for this reunion for a very long time and it is annoying that they have to stretch it out. This sounds like a PR trick and is not making the fans happy!!! I sure hope they don’t try it again or I may just have to wait until the whole series is done and THEN buy it and watch it uninterrupted!!! ARGHH!

Even a week is too long for the next episode! This is such a stupid thing to do for such an amazing show. Starz should remember people are not tuning in for them, they are tuning in for this great show….Shame on them!

I’m sick of all the Outlander-less times …. They made us wait so darn long for season three, then just a couple episodes and they take a break again! RIDICULOUS. There’s no reason for that.

Nothing wrong with reruns for a series as complex as Outlander. There’s always something to discover in the replay, particularly for recent fans. Frankly, this production offers so much drama, twist of plot and sheer intrigue that I need at least 2 weeks to recover! The writing, acting and scenes are more than remarkable. I’ve waited a long time to witness such quality in a drama series. My anticipation is timeless. Congratulations Outlander!!

Great post Karen! I understand the frustration but am totally with you Karen on this.
Personally I don’t even mind the draughtlander happened as long as the quality of this series will stay splendidly outstanding as it is now.

I have found the older I am the more patient!!! Simply sip a dram and watch some reruns of Outlander…or reread or just watch something else….I so enjoyed the brief moment of their reunion this pm …..so look forward to seeing the next….poor Jaime took a fall from “Shock”!!

Agree with all the comments I think this is so wrong and I will avoid this channel until the 22nd possibly read the books again .

This is simply testing us for our patience levels – and it is indeed so manipulative! I don’t want to watch those episodes again and will find something else to do during the timeline break and maybe come back on the 22nd!

I have one word manipulation! Or maybe the word tease. Both seem to cause anger in a lot of people. Starz is taking a gamble on this one…how far do you go before you alienate the audience! I’m not sure it’s worth taking a chance given the time that the fans have already waited. Sure we will all watch but the energy will be lower and the overall effect a bit tarnished…

I agree completely. It’s ridiculous how they seem to be milking this. First we wait a year and a half and now this stupid 2 week crap. Next season I’m doing what I had planned to do this year and wait until all the shows are aired then buy my Starz subscription for 1 month, buy pizza and hot wings and binge watch the entire season stress free.
Bernadette
October 8, 2017 @ 6:47 pm
who in their right mind thought this was a good idea. First everyone has to wait a year and a half for the third season. Then for the most anticipated episode you decide to not show it and make everyone wait an extra week??? If it is because of baseball Starz should have planned their schedule better and started the series a week later. If it is because they want to build anticipation Anticipation is at it’s highest or at least it was. When OL is over so is my Starz subscription. I hate these games.

Do they seriously think the Outlander audience would care that much about baseball? Perhaps people involved with the 2 teams that are playing, but I really don’t think that’s the Outlander demo. Bad move!

I just finished watching the 5th episode… and with THAT as the cliff hanger at the end…it’s basically cruel punishment making us wait an extra week for the next episode!!

October 8, 2017 @ 4:52 pm
Because they don’t want to compete for ratings with the baseball playoffs and World Series. Most TV shows do it.

October 8, 2017 @ 5:15 pm
But the World Series doesn’t begin until the 24th….. That is very strange.
Bill Culver

It’s not so much the actual World Series but the title game series leading up to the World Series.
