How serious is Arie Luyendyk Jr. as The Bachelor? Sources say ‘very’
Anytime that a new lead is cast for the show there are almost immediately questions about their intentions, including whether or not they are there for the “right reasons.” Our answer to this is almost simple: Of course the lead is there for fame! If a Bachelor or Bachelorette didn’t want to be famous they wouldn’t be on the show. Nobody is forcing them to do that. The best thing that you can hope for is that someone does want to find love and they view the process as a way to check off multiple boxes at the same time. Unfortunately, many past leading men have been focused on one part of the job more so than the other which is, in turn, one of the reasons why there have been so few success stories at the end of the with this franchise.
It’s really hard to say here at CarterMatt if Arie will fall into the good category or not without seeing his season or seeing his women in advance. We’re concerned because of some of the stories that are out there, but there are some close to Arie who seem to think he’ll do a good job. Take a look at what one source had to say to Entertainment Tonight on the subject:
“He’s very serious about finding love … He’s not fully focused on the production of the show. He is really focused on the connections he’s making with the women.”
Of course, one of the things you do have to remember with a sourced report like this is pretty simple: Of course there are going to be people who speak favorable of him out there given that they want it to look like he’s the right man for the job. Nobody, at least from the show or the Arie camp, is going to be all that interested in disparaging him before he officially lands the gig. Why would they? There’s little to no sense to doing anything that’s going to be bad to the show’s brand, and there’s a large enough issue to begin with when it comes to getting this season off the ground — just remember for a moment or two here that we’re talking about a show that caused some outrage when Peter Kraus wasn’t chosen as The Bachelor and it went to Arie instead.
Do you think that Arie Luyendyk Jr. will be a good Bachelor?
