Hawaii Five-0 season 8 episode 2 sneak peek: Junior Reigns arrives

Junior Reigns

Tonight Beulah Koale will make his first appearance as Junior Reigns on Hawaii Five-0and his debut will come about in a humble way.

In the sneak peek below you’ll see what could be the first scene featuring Beulah in the episode, as you see Reigns come knocking at the door of Steve McGarrett. He is literally just hours removed from being a part of the Navy, and he is already very sure of what he wants his next role to be: He wants to be a part of the Task Force. He heard a lot about Steve from a mutual acquaintance while serving and he doesn’t want to be one of those guys who drifts from job to job or is unsure as to what he wants.

You gotta admire Junior’s gumption in this moment! There aren’t many people out there who have the guts to do something this bold but he went ahead and did it anyway. It’s too bad that this bold move for him doesn’t lead to McGarrett agreeing to give him some employment. From his vantage point he’s already got a lineup on the Task Force that he is happy with — he may be technically short a member since he lost both Kono and Chin at the end of last season, but trying to hire two people who are completely new to the field may be a little too much for him to bear. It’s already asking a lot of Meaghan Rath’s Tani Rey to be ready for this sort of combat so soon.

One way or another, though, it does appear as though Junior Reigns will find his way into the Task Force to work alongside McGarrett and the rest of the team. After all, remember that Koale is a series regular and that’s surely not because he is working at Kamekona’s shrimp truck or because he’s going to be some local who Steve and Danny see every now and then. He’s meant to have a big part in the season.

Ultimately, one of the key points of interest moving into Hawaii Five-0 season 8 episode 2 tonight is going to be rather simple: Trying to determine how Junior convinces McGarrett that he is right for the team and is worthy of being brought on board. Odds are, there are going to be more than a few fun moments that we get a chance to see every step of the way. Hopefully, some of them will help Junior to also loosen up a little bit since his demeanor is still at the moment rather serious.
