Code Black season 3: Emily Alyn Lind promoted to series regular

Emily Alyn Lind

Great news Code Black fans! Revenge alum Emily Alyn Lind has been promoted to a series regular for the upcoming third season by creator Michael Seitzman.

According to Deadline, Lind’s, who has appeared in four episodes since the pilot, promotion makes complete sense given where her character’s story is heading. Lind plays Ariel Bradden, the young girl whose parents died in the pilot and is currently in the process of being adopted by Dr. Leanne Rorish (Marcia Gay Harden).

If fans will recall, in the beginning Ariel and Leanne didn’t get along very well. In fact, Ariel was your typically angst teen with a lot built up aggression. This season as Dr. Rorish starts the process of adoption Ariel will become a reluctant candy striper who will end up meeting Max. Max is a cute boy who Ariel will develop a crush for only to find out he is a cancer patient at the hospital.

It’s great to hear that Lind will have a prominent presence this season on Code Black. The dynamic between her and Leanne is a great one. Considering Leanne’s past, the adoption means she is finally moving on from the death of her husband and son. As fans know, the death of her family has been the main reason she tries to save every life she can while also being the reason she can’t move on with a life of her own. For the past two seasons, Leanne has almost been trapped in a routine that repeats itself everyday. She does nothing but work. So when Ariel entered her life she was awakened and now has a sense of purpose.

For Ariel, Leanne is the first person who has shown kindness to her since her parents died. After all when Ariel’s life took a turn after she left the hospital she returned looking for Leanne’s help. It showed she trusted her and thus the their mother-daughter relationship began.

Lind’s addition as a series regular means we can’t wait for what is in store for the hopeful mother-daughter duo.

Lind credits include playing (as mentioned) Amanda Clarke on ABC’s Revenge and fans can check her out on New Line’s upcoming horror comedy Babysitter.
