Chicago PD season 5 episode 3 preview: A big Antonio Dawson case

There are a number of big news when it comes to Chicago PD season 5 episode 3 and at the top of the list was all things Antonio Dawson. After tonight’s episode gave you a nice bit of insight into Kim Burgess’ history with the force and with Frank Toma. Next week, Antonio is going to take the lead on a case that could involve the drug trade and a young woman being abused to do unspeakable things. As if that was not disturbing enough, the case is going to transfer over to meat processing for some reason.

We’ve said this before, and we’ll say it a thousand times more — if you’re even the slightest bit squeamish, we would strongly suggest not watching an episode where meat processing is a big part of the story.

The synopsis below now offers you up a few more details regarding what you are going to see from here.

Chicago PD season 5 episode 3 synopsis – “When a young Latina woman is brutally murdered, Intelligence suspects she may have been working as a drug mule. With Antonio (Jon Seda) leading the case, the team’s investigation takes them into the grim world of meat processing, and the discovery that there may be a different motive behind her death. Also starring Jason Beghe, Jesse Lee Soffer, Patrick John Flueger, Elias Koteas, Marina Squerciati, LaRoyce Hawkins, Amy Morton and Tracy Spiridakos. Guest starring Monica Raymund, Chris Agos and Skipp Sudduth.”

One of the reasons we feel the most confident about this being a big episode for Antonio is because Raymund is stopping by — you’re getting more of a window into what’s happening with the Dawson siblings than you’ve had as of late on the show. We’re all for that, and we wish that it would also signal getting a chance to see more of another Chicago Fire character in Sylvie Brett. Shouldn’t we get more Brettonio happening in the near future? We do think that it will, but you’re going to have to be patient in order to see it. (Signs are that this is going to happen a little later this season.)

As for the promo, one of the major takeaways that we had from watching it was just how challenging it’s going to be for Antonio to get more information. As it turns out, one of the only witnesses who could be of use in the case is a young boy.
