Are you ready and prepared for the arrival of The Blacklist season 5 episode 3? We do hope so given that signs suggest it’ll be a big one. “Miss Rebecca Thrall” is the title, and it could be very much enthralling thanks to the story of one Tom Keen, who will be put in a delicate position thanks to Raymond Reddington. James Spader’s character wants to use him, and with there being no love loss between these two we are asking ourselves if this the beginning of the end for him? Thanks to a few flash forwards we know where this story is headed: With the possible death of Tom.

It’s probably going to be a while until you get some answers on the subject of Tom, so with that in mind, Cartermatt is going to go ahead and focus on something else. We have for you (via NBC) some more details on the subject of what is coming up.

The Blacklist season 5 episode 3 synopsis – “While the Task Force investigates a series of suspicious police shootings, Agent Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) is distracted by increasing external pressures. With his back up against the wall, Red (James Spader) drafts Tom (Ryan Eggold) in executing an elaborate plan to help re-establish his criminal reputation. Michael Aronov, Clark Middleton, Aida Turturro and Sarah Wynter guest star.”

The big indicator here of Reddington’s desperation is the reference to his back being “up against the wall.” If Reddington had it his way, he probably would not have considered asking for this favor in the first place. Now that he is in this situation, however, you have to take whatever help you can get. Maybe there is also some sort of ulterior motive here when it comes to figuring out precisely what it is that Reddington knows about the bones. For the time being, Tom knows that these are key to changing the entire game when it comes to Reddington. Mr. Kaplan kept these as her final ace in the hole for a reason; it’s a secret so devastating that Reddington is desperate to ensure that Liz isn’t aware of it.

As for the promo below, it raises a few interesting questions about our super-dangerous Blacklister this time around, someone who is actually out there killing people dressed as a cop. You can see why this would be troublesome, no?

What do you think is coming on The Blacklist season 5 episode 3?

Do you think that a Reddington – Tom mission will be fun, or at least fun in the form of how problematic it is? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
